Welcome to VENUS (“VENUS,” “we,” “us” or “our”).  VENUS is a mobile application (an app) that may be used to upload and share photos, videos, comments and other content with others. 

 

·       By downloading, accessing or using the app or other services of VENUS UNLIMITED, LLC (the “Service”) you signify that you have read this Privacy Policy and that you agree to be bound by it.

·       Our Privacy Policy applies to all visitors, users, and any others who access the Service (“user” “you,” or “your”).  

·       The Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share and protect information through your use of our website and app.

·       Each time you visit us, the most recent published version of our Privacy Policy applies.

·       When you post data, text, files, information, usernames, images, graphics, photos, profiles, audio and video clips, sounds, musical works, works of authorship, links and other content or materials (collectively, “User Content”) using our Service that means that other users may have access to your User Content consistent with the terms and conditions of this Privacy Policy and our Terms of Use. 

 

Information We Collect

 

·       Your username, password, e-mail address and phone number when you register for a VENUS account. 

·       Other information that you provide may include your name, picture and address book. This information allows us to help you and other users find each other on the Service.

·       We collect User Content.  For example, this includes photos, comments, videos and other materials that you post using the Service or otherwise provide to us.

·       Whenever you contact us or our support team, we may collect any information you voluntarily share with us to help you resolve your problem.  We also collect technical information regarding your mobile device, so that we may help you troubleshoot your problem.

·       We may collect non-personal identification information about you whenever you interact with our website and app. This is sometimes called “aggregate data.” Aggregate data may include your browser name, the type of computer used as well as technical information about how you connect to our mobile platform and our website.  This information includes the operating system and the Internet service providers utilized, mobile device information (phone model and version), IP address, and other related information.  

·       When you use a mobile device to use our Service we may access, collect, monitor or store your device identifier.  These device identifiers include your phone version and model number.  Device identifiers help us verify a user’s identify.

 

When Do We Collect Information?

 

We collect information from you when you register for the Service, when you upload content through our Service, and when we contact you or you contact us.

 

Cookies and Similar Technologies

 

We use tokens to identify users.  A web token is like a “cookie.”  Most web browsers are set to store cookies and tokens by default.  You may be able to disable or reject any tokens we use through your mobile device or browser.  Please know that doing so may interrupt and change your user experience, and you may not be able to use the Service that VENUS provides.

 

Analytics Information

 

VENUS utilizes third party analytics tools.  These tools collect information sent by your device or our Service, including the web pages you visit, add-ons, and other information that helps us improve the Service.  VENUS may allow users to sign in using third party services, including social media sites such as Facebook or other related services that may collect analytics information as well. 

 

How Do We Protect User Information?

 

However, no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure.  While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your information, we cannot ensure or warrant absolute security. We require that you use a password to protect your information when using the Service and it is up to you to do your part to keep that login information secure.

·       Please adjust your privacy settings to restrict the content you upload if you wish to keep it private or limited to a smaller group of Service users.  

·       If VENUS learns of a security systems breach, we may attempt to notify you electronically so that you can take appropriate protective steps.

  • VENUS is created to permit sharing of User Content with other users within the Service.

     

    While you may share your User Content with other users within the Service, you may not share links to User Content in any manner that would make the User Content accessible outside of the Service.

·       We endeavor to provide notice to you of any security systems breach and efforts to restore our Service as required in accordance with applicable law. How We Use Your Information


VENUS may collect and use your personal information and the aggregate data that you generate for the following purposes:

    Information you provide helps us respond to your customer service requests and support needs more efficiently.

 

  • To Personalize Your Experience


    We may use your information in a way that does not identify you as an individual to understand how our Users as a group use the Service and resources provided on the app.

We use your information to prevent fraud, or other unauthorized or illegal activity on your account. 

 

  • To Improve Our Site and App


    We may use feedback you provide to improve our Service.

 

  • To Send You E-mail


    We may use your e-mail address to send you communication relating to your account including account verification, changes to our Service, technical and security notices.  We may also provide communications regarding updates in our Privacy Policy.We may also use your e-mail address to respond to your inquiries, questions, or other requests.You are given the choice to opt-out of certain optional communications from us and our affiliates and marketing partners.  To “opt-out” you may send an opt-out request to us at hello@venus.date with the word “unsubscribe” in the email subject line. 

 

·       To Connect You With Other Users

When you register for the Service, we collect your address book contacts.  We may use this information to connect you with other users that you may know and for other purposes.  We have a search feature that allows lookup of users by first and last name.  If you choose, you can use our functionality to locate other users on the Service through your contact list or through a search of names and usernames on VENUS.  You may also use our “Invite Friends” feature to invite someone to the Service by selecting that person directly from your address book contacts on your device and sending a text or email from your personal account.  Because this communication comes directly from your personal account, VENUS does not have access or control over it. 

 

·       To Provide Products or Services, Bill You, or Market Product or Services

We may collect and use your information to provide you with products or services, to bill you for products and services you request, and to market products and services which we think may be of interest to you.

 

·       To Communicate With Third Parties and Enable Third Parties to Communicate With You in a Manner Consistent with This Privacy Policy

Your information may also be transferred to third parties who act for or on our behalf, for further processing in accordance with the purpose for which the information was originally collected or may otherwise be lawfully processed, such as services delivery, evaluating the usefulness of the Service, marketing, data management or technical support. These third parties have contracted with us to only use your information for the agreed upon purpose, and not to sell your information to third parties, and not to disclose it to third parties except as may be required by law, as permitted by us or as stated in this Privacy Policy.

 

Where Information is Processed

 

The Internet is a global environment.  Using the Internet to collect and process personal data necessarily involves the transmission of data on an international basis. This means that your information may be transferred to and maintained on computers located outside of your state, province, country or other governmental jurisdiction where the privacy laws may not be as protective as those where you are located. VENUS is based in the United States.  When you use our Service you consent to the processing and transfer of information in and to the United States and other countries. 

·       Keep in mind, even if the laws in your country are more protective than U.S. law, U.S. law governs your use of our Service.  

·       If you are a user based in the U.S. and you use the Service while you are abroad, your information may be available to law enforcement or to the government of that country.

How We Share Information

 

We take reasonable steps to ensure that the information you want to keep private remains private, including the use of password protection for some user content and the use of SSL services.  We reserve the right to sell or trade your personal information and aggregate data with third parties in a manner that is consistent with this Privacy Policy. 

 

Third Party Disclosure

 

·       We may share information about you with service providers who perform services on our behalf. 

·       We may disclose your personal information and aggregate data to a third party as part of a reorganization or a sale of the assets of VENUS. 

·       Any third party to which we transfer or sell VENUS assets will have the right to continue to use the information that you provide to us (both personal and aggregate data) subject to this Privacy Policy.

 

Third Party Links

 

·       The Service may contain user links to websites other than our own.  We have no control over these third party links, and do not assume responsibility or liability for any content, opinions, materials, or services available on them.

·       We retain the right to disable user links from our website and app, but make no warranties that we will do so.

·       If you leave the Service and access a third party site or content linked from our site or app our Privacy Policy no longer governs your transaction.

·       It is your responsibility to review the privacy policy of any third party website that may be linked from our Service, and we encourage you to do so.

 

Parties with Whom You May Choose to Share your User Content

 

·       You are solely responsible for the User Content that you upload to the mobile platform including but not limited to photos, messages, comments, notes, data, text, audio and video clips, advertisements, listings, links and any and all other content.

·       Any information that you voluntarily disclose for posting to the Service becomes available to the public and is controlled by the privacy settings you select. 

·       Because you are responsible for the User Content you upload, please take a moment to adjust your privacy settings to make sure you are only sharing content with the users that you wish to share content with.

·       Once your User Content or other information is provided to VENUS your User Content or other information may be re-shared by others.  VENUS is not responsible for any re-sharing of User Content or other information by you or any third party.

 

Responding to Legal Requests and Preventing Harm

 

We may share your information in response to a request from law enforcement officials both within and without the United States if we have a good faith belief that the law requires us to do so.  We may have to share your information in response to civil or criminal subpoenas, or other requests by law enforcement personnel, to establish or exercise our legal rights or, defend against legal claims and if in our judgment in such circumstances disclosure is required or appropriate.

 

We may also share your information if we believe it is necessary in order to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the physical safety of any person, violations of our Terms, or as otherwise required by law.

 

Your Choices About Your Information

 

VENUS is designed so that a user may choose what content they wish to share with others. 

·       As a user you may adjust your privacy settings at any time through the mobile platform.  If you select to keep your account private under account settings, users will be alerted that you have requested to permit only your followers to view your User Content.  While VENUS makes every effort to ensure that users comply with our users’ privacy settings, we cannot guarantee that everyone will do so.

·        You may not unsubscribe from service-related emails such as account verification, changes and updates to our Service, or technical and security notices.

·       We do not respond to browser Do Not Track signals or other mechanisms that provide a method to opt out of the collection of information across the networks of websites and online services in which we participate.  If we do so in the future, we will describe how we do so here.

 

Children

 

Our Service is not directed at Children.  Children under the age of 13 should not attempt to use or access our Service. Further, we never collect or maintain information from our Service from those we actually know are under 13, and no part of our website and mobile platform is structured to attract anyone under 13.  In the event that we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without parental consent, we will delete that information as quickly as possible.  Please contact us at hello@venus.date for assistance if you believe we might have any information from or about a child under 13 using our Service.

If you are a California resident, you have the right to receive: a) information identifying all third-party companies to which we may have disclosed, within the past year, personal information pertaining to you for those companies’ direct marketing purposes; and b) a description of the categories of personal information disclosed. VENUS may update or make changes to this Privacy Policy at any time.  Please review it periodically.  We may provide you additional notice of modification as appropriate, either through e-mail, or an updated “date,” on the Privacy Policy we post on our website.  Your continued use of our Service after any modification of the Privacy Policy will constitute your acceptance of these modifications.
